The following class members are part of the Qt 3 support layer. They are provided to help you port old code to Qt 4. We advise against using them in new code.
Use QWidget::setToolTip() instead.
For example, if you have code like
tip->add(widget, text);
you can rewrite it as
widget->setToolTip(text);
This is an overloaded member function, provided for convenience. It behaves essentially like the above function.
Intercept the QEvent::ToolTip events in your widget's QWidget::event() function and call QToolTip::showText() with the text you want to display. The Tooltips example illustrates this technique.
Use QWidget::setToolTip() instead.
For example, if you have code like
tip->remove(widget);
you can rewrite it as
widget->setToolTip("");
